Today is officially the last day of term, so tomorrow I will post some Easter activities that you could do over the next 2 weeks, if you want to, or if you get a bit bored and would like something to do!! Tuesday 31st March  Home learning Mulberry Class Mental maths Work out these quick calculations either in your head, or by drawing it to help work out the answers. Maths-   Money Notice (below) that you can look at an amount of money, and work out how much there is, then write the amount using the £ symbol e.g. £2.04 1) Try Challenge 1: OR Challenge 2: Literacy/Reading Poetry: 1) Look at the pictures of the animals and choose one animal .  Make a list of all the features of that animal e.g. Lion – fur, nose, ears, whiskers, teeth, paws 2) Take each feature in turn and brainstorm as many words as can think of e.g.   Fur is soft, golden, thick Paws are large, powerful, dangerous. Monday 30th March  Home learning Mulberry Class Morning Mulberry Class, hope you managed to get outside to get some fresh air this weekend. I will be blogging another set of activities to do this week. These activities are guidelines of ideas, so please do any of them that you are able to. I've tried to keep the tasks to the routine of a normal Monday. We are starting some work on poetry this week, so today I have given you some poetry to read and think about. If you are able to get out into a garden, then have a look at what wildlife you can see outside too. Maths - Multiplication Look at the different blocks of grids (on sheet called ‘Multiplying’, in learning pack sent home)  These are arrays and each is a multiplication. Write the multiplication and match the grids that show the same multiplication. Then answer the times table questions underneath (on the sheet). Wednesday 25th March  Home learning Mulberry Class Thank you to all of you that are logging onto the Mulberry class blog and trying these activities with your children. I have included some websites with games you could play today too! Mental maths Challenge yourselves by completing the ‘Daily 10’, just like we normally do in school: https://www.topmarks.co.uk /maths-games/daily10 Choose Level 3/ addition / 2 digit numbers/ 10 secs  OR Practise your addition and subtraction to 20 and 100  Maths – Weight 1) Look through your store cupboard and find foods that have their weight on the packet such as flour, tinned food and cereal. Make a list of different weights of foods in g or kg. Which are heavier or lighter? How much heavier is one item than another - use their weight and some maths to work it out?  e.g. Flour is 2.5kg or 2500g       Can of soup is 400 g       So the flour is heavier. 2500 - 400 = 2100g       The flour is heavier by 2100g or 2.1kg

Tuesday 24th March  Home learning Mulberry Class Morning Mulberry Class, hope you tried all of yesterdays work. Today we will focus on addition and describing your robot hero using similes. In the afternoon, imagine you are with your class on a normal Tuesday afternoon, as I have made some suggestions for a science task. The school have posted ideas for exploring your 5 senses whilst learning in the outdoors. You will find the link for these on the home page of the 'East Harling Primary School website ' - click on the green wording that says ' learning outside activities' Mental maths Practise your 3 and 4 times tables Maths – Addition Write out any additions to 20 or 100 e.g. 1 + 19 = 20       17 + 3 = 20       20 + 80 = 100       40 + 60 = 100       34 + 66 = 100 OR Try these examples: Literacy/Reading Write similes to describe your robot hero from yesterday.  (see ‘simile’ sheet in your learning pack) A

Maths- Place Value Use your knowledge of place value (hundreds, tens and ones) to work out these numbers (see sheet in learning pack called ‘Place value’) Can you create a three digit number and write it in words?  E.g. 631 is six hundred and thirty one Literacy/Reading The Iron Man is a fantasy or science-fiction story.  Do you know of any other fantasy or science fiction stories?  The Iron Man is the her o of the story.  Design your own robot hero (see ‘my robot hero’ sheet in your learning pack) Afternoon activity Topic – Go outside and create a Stone age home using stones, mud, twigs etc OR Draw a picture of a Neolithic scene  with a person, their home, fire, a ploughed field and animals from that time.
